History

Rudolf Winkler

Rudolf Winkler
In 1905 Rudolf Winkler lays the ground stone for today’s company. After almost 20 years experience as an independent cheese maker in Russia and Strelitz/Danzig in today’s Poland, he returns to Switzerland for health reasons. He recognises the requirements of his professional colleagues in Switzerland and commences the negotiation and sale of additives for the production of Emmental cheese.

Fritz Otto Winkler
In 1920 Fritz Otto Winkler joins the company. He has good technical qualifications as a metalworker and the ability to develop practical appliances for the production of cheese. He begins to visit the cheese makers. At first by bicycle and from 1922 by car. The clientele is thus broadened and the name Winkler is soon ever-present in cheese-making circles as technical progress is of great assistance to cheese makers.
